After his historic reign he directed his steps towards Extremadura for his retirement. It stays in the Castle of the Counts of Oropesa, current parador of tourism of Jarandilla de la Vera. Once the works of his rooms in the Monastery of Yuste starts the procession that passes through Aldeanueva de la Vera and arrives at the Monastery of Yuste located in Cuacos de Yuste.

A historical walk along the exciting route of Charles V, which will begin in the old castle of the Counts of Oropesa which is the current Parador de Jarandilla de la Vera until you reach the Monastery of Yuste which was declared a National Heritage Site in March 2007.
